Sydney’s newest clubbing destination, Ministry of Sound Club at ivy, has welcomed the likes of Peking Duk and Boy George already since opening its doors in June, now the club is set to fire up August with an array of international and local headliners. Kicking off Ministry of Sound Club’s August line-up on Saturday, 5th August is the one and only Darude, followed by Polish DJ/producer Sikdope on August 12th, one of Australia’s biggest musical exports Tigerlily on August 19th, followed by a very special back-to-back set from Enschway and Luude on August 26th.
Famed for the global platinum-selling smash ‘Sandstorm’, Darude is recognised by many as one of the most influential artists to emerge from the dance scene in the past decade. With a DJ style that is a mixture of progressive and uplifting trance, fused with elements of tech, breaks and house, Darude’s music delivers a dynamic energy that gets any dancefloor moving. A regular visitor to Australia, Darude has collaborated with Aussie producers like Uberjak’d – remixing his track ‘Fix You Up’ – and next week will be releasing a new single with Melbourne producer Zac Waters on Will Sparks’ Bourne label. Keep an eye out for this new release during his set on August 5th at Ministry of Sound Club and get acquainted with Darude’s most recent album Moments here.
Fresh from playing Tomorrowland, Polish DJ and producer Sikdope will be making his Ministry of Sound Club debut on August 12th. When he’s not controlling crowds in some of the biggest clubs across the globe, Sikdope spends his days in the studio coming up with new ways to revolutionize the scene. This Polish producer started at a young age; attending one of the top music schools in Poland for more than nine years has allowed Sikdope to become one of the most versatile producers in the game. From bass and house to trap, this DJ/producer has helped pioneer the sound of electronic dance music today.
On August 19th, one of Australia’s biggest dance music exports, Tigerlily, will be bringing her captivating show to Ministry of Sound Club. Tigerlily’s electrifying stage presence and drive to transcend the traditional expectations of a DJ sees her in a league of her own. Having placed in the top 5 of the inthemix Awards two years in a row and the #1 female DJ three years running, Tigerlily is a mainstay across the biggest festival and club stages both in Australia and around the world. Tigerlily will be jetting in from her European tour to make her Ministry of Sound Club debut on August 19th. Check out a taste of what to expect here.
Rounding out the month on August 26th sees two of the biggest names in local bass music, Enschway and Luude, teaming up for a very special back-to-back set.
